A beginner's guide to Hydrinity

What Hydrinity is known for

Hydrinity's idea is simple: help skin feel calm, then hydrate it well. Its routines start with Hyacyn Active Mist, a light hypochlorous acid mist you spray on after cleansing. It leaves skin feeling clean, fresh and calm, contains no fragrance or alcohol, and dries in moments.

Next comes hyaluronic acid. Hydrinity has two HA serums, and both pair hyaluronic acid with a plant-derived peptide. Restorative HA Serum is the soothing one, with ginger root and bisabolol, for skin that feels dry, tight or easily upset. Renewing HA Serum adds a smoothing peptide and squalane for skin starting to show fine lines.

Beyond those, there are a few targeted extras: RetaXome, a retinal made to be gentle enough for nightly use, Vivid Brightening Serum for dark spots and sun marks, and Hydri-C, a light vitamin C moisturiser.

Who it suits

Hydrinity is lovely for dry, dehydrated and sensitive skin, and for anyone who wants a short, calm routine rather than a shelf full of steps. I also like it for skin that's feeling a little fragile after a clinic treatment, once your practitioner agrees.

It isn't only for dry skin. The mist suits blemish-prone skin too, and the Prelude cleanser is made for normal, combination and blemish-prone skin.

Where to start: four simple steps

Cleanse morning and evening with Prelude Facial Treatment Cleanser, a clear gel with gentle botanical AHAs and aloe that lifts away make-up and oil without leaving skin tight. It contains natural essential oils, so if your skin is very sensitive, we may suggest a softer cleanser alongside the rest of the routine.

Mist with Hyacyn Active Mist, two to four sprays over the face and neck, and let it dry. Then two pumps of Restorative HA Serum if your skin is dry or sensitive, or Renewing HA Serum if fine lines are your focus. The Restorative Kit and the Age Renewal Kit pair the mist with each serum, which is the easiest way to begin.

We don't stock a Hydrinity sunscreen, so finish each morning with SPF. Heliocare 360° Mineral Tolerance Fluid is fragrance-free and kind to the same sensitive skin.

Ready for more? RetaXome Daily Retinal Hydrator is designed to be gentle, but it's still a retinoid. Patch-test, start every other night, build up slowly and wear SPF daily. It isn't for use in pregnancy, while breastfeeding or when planning a pregnancy.

Tanisha's tipLet the mist dry before your serum goes on. It takes seconds, and it's how the routine is designed to work.

How it fits with other brands and clinic treatments

Hydrinity is easy to mix. The mist and HA serums sit comfortably under most moisturisers and alongside other brands' products. Just keep to one retinoid at a time: if you use RetaXome, don't add another retinol or retinal on top.

Around clinic treatments, Restorative HA Serum and the Restorative HA+ Masque are gentle options in the days afterwards, if your practitioner agrees. Your aftercare plan always comes first.

How Hydrinity is sold here

Hydrinity is sold only through authorised providers, so we offer it after a free 15-minute consultation by phone, video or in one of our clinics. One of my skin experts will check which serum suits you and whether you're ready for RetaXome. Then you can order and reorder here.

Your questions

Which Hydrinity serum should I choose?

Restorative HA Serum for skin that feels dry, tight or sensitive. Renewing HA Serum for normal, dry or mature skin that wants hydration and a smoother look.

What does the hypochlorous mist actually do?

It leaves skin feeling clean, fresh and calm after cleansing, with a short, fragrance-free formula and no residue. Think of it as a comfortable first step before your serum.

It's made to be gentle enough for retinoid beginners. Start every other night, build up slowly and wear SPF every day.
